Our Materials

Our Materials

Made to be touched, played in, washed often, and handed down.

The fabrics in our collection are chosen with real family life in mind: softness for sensitive skin, strength for everyday wear, and a sourcing story we can feel good about. From organic cotton grown in Texas to denim milled in Georgia and fine-gauge merino spun from domestic-grown fiber, each material brings something a little different to the everyday mix.

The materials behind our everyday favorites

French Terry

Loop-backed organic cotton with cozy structure for pullovers, joggers, and matching layers.

Cotton Basics

Soft baby rib and smooth jersey basics made for layering, stretching, and everyday wear.

Denim

Heavyweight U.S.-grown cotton denim with real jeans character and room for everyday play.

Merino Wool

Fine-gauge merino that layers lightly, warms without bulk, and feels softer than most people expect.

Organic cotton French terry

Our French terry is the cozy backbone of our Everyday pullovers and joggers. It starts with Texas-grown organic cotton, then is spun, knit, and finished by regional mills within 150 miles of Asheville, North Carolina.

The loop-backed knit gives it the balance we love most: soft and comfortable right away, but structured enough to hold its shape through playground days, laundry days, and hand-me-down days.

Used in: The Everyday Pullover, The Everyday Kids Pullover, and The Everyday Kids Jogger.

Organic cotton baby rib + jersey basics

Some of our softest everyday pieces begin with two cotton knit structures that do different jobs beautifully. Baby rib gives bodysuits gentle stretch and a softly springy hand, while jersey basics have a smoother, lighter feel.

Many of these cotton knits begin with Texas-grown organic cotton and move through regional U.S. mill partners near Asheville, North Carolina. The result is a group of pieces that feels simple in the best way: breathable, easy to layer, and made to move.

Used in: The Everyday Short-Sleeve Bodysuit, The Everyday Long-Sleeve Bodysuit, and other soft cotton basics.

U.S.-grown cotton denim

Our denim is made for kids who actually wear their jeans. It is cut from heavyweight 13.75 oz U.S.-grown cotton denim that feels like real denim from the beginning, then softens beautifully with time and wear.

The fabric is milled at Mt. Vernon Mills in Georgia, home to the largest denim manufacturing facility in the U.S., and sewn into our Everyday Play Jean in San Francisco. That combination gives us the durability we want, with the easier fit kids need for climbing, crawling, chalk drawing, snack sitting, and all the rest.

Used in: The Everyday Play Jean with Lemon Patch Pockets and The Everyday Play Jean with Vintage Fabric Pockets.

Fine-gauge merino wool

Our merino wool begins with domestic-grown fiber and is spun into a fine-gauge yarn that feels light in the hand and soft once finished. It brings warmth without bulk, which makes it especially nice for layering.

The wool we use is 100% merino and sourced from domestic-grown U.S. fiber. Its finer hand helps give it a smoother, gentler feel than people often expect from wool, while still offering the natural warmth and breathability that make wool such a lasting favorite.

Why we love it: warm but not heavy, soft but still hardworking, and rooted in a domestic fiber story that aligns with how we want to make things.
