“Slightly oversized” is a helpful description until you try to picture it on yourself. Then the questions get more specific. How wide? Where does the hem sit? Will there be room for the tee you like wearing underneath?
For our unisex Everyday Pullover, we'd start with a sweatshirt you already like and a tape measure. You don't have to translate your usual size from a different clothing category. You need to know how that familiar garment compares with this one.
Choose your reference carefully
Use something you actually want the pullover to fit like. A close-fitting knit is a different reference from a roomy sweatshirt, even if the labels have the same letter on them. Lay it flat, smooth out the folds without stretching it, and write down its size and maker so you know which garment you measured.
Measure across the chest below the armholes. Then measure the body from a consistent shoulder point down to the hem. For the sleeve, note exactly where you started: a shoulder seam and the center back of a neckline will give you different numbers. Match the measuring method in the size information you're comparing against.
Take a moment to name what you'd change about your reference. Maybe the width is right but you want a shorter body. Maybe it looks good over a tee but feels crowded over another layer. That small note will help more than an automatic size up.
Think about width and length separately
The Natural White Everyday Pullover and Washed Black Everyday Pullover are slightly oversized unisex crewnecks. The adult pullover is designed around a waist-length shape; sizing up is meant to make it roomier without making it much longer. If length is the thing you're trying to change, compare that measurement directly.
Try your reference sweatshirt with the pants you expect to wear. See where the hem lands sitting down as well as standing. Then put your usual jacket over it. Sometimes a fit that feels just right on its own becomes less useful when the rest of the outfit arrives.
If a dimension you need isn't shown, ask us. A chest measurement won't answer a sleeve-length question, and there's no reason to guess at a missing number.
Now the color and motif
Both versions use organic cotton French terry. Natural White is warm, undyed cotton; Washed Black is garment dyed to a matte black finish. Think about which one you want beside the pants and outer layers you already reach for, then choose the design.
If a child is joining in, choose their fit separately. You can share a motif without trying to share a silhouette. Our adult and child outfit guide gets into that part.
Once you find a fit you like, keep the measurements. Add a note about what was underneath, and you'll have something useful for the next comparison. The adult Everyday Pullover uses a cold wash with like colors and low tumble or line drying; take any future measurements when it's dry, using the same method as before.
