A fried egg on the fridge is a small design decision, but quite a good one if it makes you happy to look at the fridge. Howdy's ceramic magnets live in that part of the shop: little objects that have a job and a bit of personality.
There are Yellow Smiley and Chartreuse Smiley faces, an Egg and a Strawberry. Each is sold individually. You can choose one for a particular note or mix designs if you have a few things to put up.
First, will a magnet work there?
Try a magnet you already own on the surface you have in mind. A fridge or cabinet can look like the right place and still not accept magnets. It's a quick thing to find out before planning an arrangement around it.
Then think about what you're hanging. A small reminder or a photo is different from a thick stack of paper. The size of the ceramic decoration doesn't establish its holding strength, so ask about the specific magnet if you need it to do a heavier job.
Something to hold, something to look at
A note about an upcoming visit, a grocery list, a little drawing: a magnet gives those papers somewhere visible. You can start with the thing you want to put up, or choose the motif simply because you like it.
For a gift, a strawberry might remind you of the recipient's favorite fruit. Or perhaps they like chartreuse. The recipient can choose where it ends up.
If you're picturing a bigger image on the wall rather than a small paper on a cabinet, our framed and unframed print guide looks at that kind of display.
A note gives it its first job
You could pair a magnet with a Thanks! card, or write a few lines on paper you already have. Say what you appreciated or what made you choose the little egg. Our card-writing guide has ideas if you know what you feel but can't quite get the first sentence down.
A photo showing several magnets is a way to see the designs together, rather than a promise that they arrive as a set. Choose each one you want when putting a gift together.
Getting it there in one piece
Ceramic needs protection even when it's small. Package the magnet separately from the card with suitable cushioning; don't slip it into an ordinary letter envelope and assume it'll travel like paper. If you're mailing it, check the packed dimensions and weight for the service you use.
These are decorative home accessories, not toys for small children. Choose a place and a recipient with that in mind. You'll find more small household gifts in our gift guide, though there is something appealing about letting a little smiley face carry the message.
