The laundry instructions for our Everyday French-terry Jogger and adult Pullover are short: cold wash with like colors, low tumble or line dry, no bleach, low iron if needed. You can save that sentence and get on with the rest of the load.
There are a few details worth slowing down for, though. A pullover is more than a piece of cotton. It has cuffs and seams, perhaps a printed motif, and thicker places that don't dry at quite the same moment as the body. That's where a little attention is useful.
Before it goes in
Empty the pockets. Have a look at the other things heading into the machine too, especially anything with rough closures or a forgotten object tucked inside. Give the garments room to move instead of pushing one more sweatshirt into an already full drum.
The Washed Black Jogger and Washed Black Adult Pullover can share a cold-wash routine with like colors. Cold means the machine's cold setting, with detergent used according to its own directions. Bleach isn't part of the routine.
If you find a mark, first notice where it is. Plain fabric, a printed area and a ribbed cuff aren't all the same surface. Choose any treatment according to its instructions for the material and decoration, rather than immediately scrubbing harder. With an unfamiliar stain, figuring out what made it is more helpful than trying a succession of stronger products.
The drying choice is yours
These Everyday pieces allow either a low tumble or line drying. If you're using the dryer, choose low heat. If you're hanging the garment, leave room around it and allow enough time for the thicker areas to dry too.
Before putting it away, feel the cuffs and waistband as well as the broad, easy-to-reach middle. A body that feels dry can make it tempting to fold everything straight into the drawer. It's worth giving a damp edge more time, especially if the piece is going into a stack of other clothes.
A low iron is allowed if you need it; keep any extra instructions that came with a printed design. Most of the useful finishing is less involved: arrange the garment in its ordinary shape, look over the seams, and put it away when it's fully dry.
Natural White is meant to be warm white
The Natural White Adult Pullover uses undyed organic cotton. Its warm tone is part of the piece, rather than something to correct with bleach. It follows the normal cold-wash, low-tumble-or-line-dry routine.
If laundry is a shared job at home, a picture of the label is handy. It also gives you something useful to send along when a piece gets passed to another family.
Our French-terry fabric guide explains those little loops on the reverse. And if the next item in the pile is a Play Jean, use its denim washing instructions: that one calls for flat drying. Having cotton in common doesn't mean every finished garment takes exactly the same route through the laundry.
